Associate in Business Studies (ABS)


The Associate in Business Studies degree was developed to help prepare students to perform Marketing, Accounting, Office Administration and Management functions in a variety of organisations and industries. This undergraduate programme offers both practical and theory based components and has an equivalent of 90 credits in the European Credit Transfer and Accumulation System (ECTS) with a minimum recommended course duration of 2,250 study hours.

In order to be awarded this degree, students must pass the 70% grade requirement for each course and must submit an academic essay prior to graduation with a minimum of 3,000 words on a preferred business topic. Students will be interviewed as part of their final requirement for graduation.

Additional Course Requirements

Students enrolled in this programme after 1 July 2020 are required to take a minimum of 50 hours worth of business subjects from the Open University (UK). Courses are free to enroll and a Statement of Participation is awarded after each completed course. Please browse the courses below:


Alternatively, you may take the free courses being offered at OpenLearning.com. They have partnered with different institutions including the University of Technology Sydney, Charles Sturt University, University of New South Wales Sydney, University of Science - Malaysia, University of Newcastle, and Sunway University among others. A minimum of 50 hours is also needed. Some courses do not offer a certificate so you can submit a screen shot as proof of completion. You may browse their courses below: 


In addition, students must take the Fundamentals of Digital Marketing certificate programme from Google Digital Garage. This free course from Google is accredited by the Interactive Advertising Bureau Europe and the Open University (UK). Information and programme enrollment is here:
